How we build it right

The process behind concrete sidewalks & walkways built to last

Credibility comes from how it's built, not from promises. Here's the order of operations on every concrete sidewalks & walkways job.

01

Compacting the subgrade in sand

The subgrade is prepped and compacted over the sandy, marl-streaked ground so the path holds its line instead of heaving and dropping panel to panel where the water table runs high.

02

Laying a four-inch base

A walkway rides on a four-inch base, the depth foot traffic wants, with structural fiber and welded wire mesh through it so the slab acts as one piece.

03

Setting the joint spacing

Control joints are placed on a spacing that hands the slab defined lines to flex along as the sand under it wets, drains, and settles across the seasons.

04

Pitching the water off

The fall is set so summer rain runs off the path rather than gathering, since standing water on loose sand both undercuts the base and slicks the surface.

05

Brooming in the traction

A broom finish adds grip through rain and the everyday Gulf humidity, keeping the path safe for an owner or a guest alike.

Why Lucky's

The one you don't have to worry about

01

We answer, and we come back

Most contractors vanish after the deposit. We pick up the phone, show up when we say, and stand behind the work after the truck leaves. The follow-through is the difference.

02

Managed crews, our name on it

A foreman we know runs your job and a vetted crew does the work, managed by Lucky's, one company accountable from the first call to the final walkthrough.

03

Fully insured, paperwork-ready

COI and lien waivers on file before we break ground. The documentation that lets commercial clients pay and gives homeowners peace of mind.

04

Built right, not cheap

Prepped subgrade, reinforced and mixed to spec for the job, and proper curing. We build credibility through the process, not promises. On concrete sidewalks & walkways, that starts with compacting the subgrade in sand.

FAQ

Naples concrete sidewalks & walkways, answered

How much does a concrete walkway cost in Naples?

Walkways price on width, thickness, and base prep over loose sand, plus the slope and slip-aware finish heavy Gulf rain calls for. As a fair opening figure, most run near $8 to $13 a square foot, and we set the exact number after walking the length of the run with you.

Can a trip hazard be fixed without replacing the whole walk?

Frequently, yes. A single panel that ground movement or a root has lifted can often be ground flush or pulled and repoured on its own, no need to tear out the run. We find what pushed it up and point you to the fix that holds.

Why have my walkway panels lifted at the joints?

The loose sand under the panels takes on and gives up water unevenly and drops them at different rates, and a high water table and roots only hurry it along. On the repair the base gets rebuilt, fiber and mesh go in, and fresh joints are laid so the same movement does not simply come back.

Can you build ramps that meet ADA requirements?

Yes. Ramps and their approaches are built to the grade and surface accessibility requires and finished with a slip-aware texture for wet weather. Show us the entry and the ramp is poured to fit the way in.

How do you space the joints on a walkway?

Spacing follows the slab's width and thickness so movement stays controlled. Too few joints invites random cracking, and loose sand that drains and shifts leaves no margin for it.

When is a new sidewalk ready to walk on?

Let the slab gain strength for its first few days before anyone uses it, and allow a little more when the coastal humidity is thick. The dates for your specific pour are laid out up front.
